What use is it?

If you've ever had to record a guitar in a project studio you should know already!
Many pre-amps and combo direct outs "fizz" and naturally don't benefit from the speaker's contribution.
Also many factors effect guitar tone and a heavy distortion isn't always appropriate. StringiZer is a more subtle overdrive and tone effect for warmth and clarity, rather than a power distortion.
It may not quite be a Palmer speaker load simulator or a Dumbell but neither are they StringiZer.
