How does it work?
Assign a low CPU instance of TailVerb to
any channel/group you want to give a reverb edge to. This is then routed to
your reverb/s.
A demo session song template is supplied.Main Features:
- It's all about the sound!
- If you want an edge - you need this!
- Works as a pre-verb and provides a
unique character (and space) to every single channel/group you desire -
even if only using one reverb
- Positioning info. Not just left right
but front back as well. Adds extra depth and separation to reverberated
sounds.
- Gives new character to any reverb -
even convoluted reverbs.
- Vastly reduces the need for CPU hungry
convolution based reverbs. Or use 1 convoluted and make it sound lime
many.
- Change positional and character
parameters in real-time, automated by your mix.
- A superlative sound designers tool.
- A PC alternative for the Mac based
AudioEase.com AltiVerb
- Use it on component sounds like drum
kit parts or sound effects, or on channels, or groups of channels.
What use is it?
TailVerb
does two things.
1) It gives your reverb/s new
"simultaneous" characters. A character per channel if you wish. Even just
using one non-convoluted reverb, it can sound like you are running several
high class verbs.
2) It lets you position each sound with-in
the reverb space, like real room positioning. Not just left and right, but
front and back too.
Use it on any existing reverb/s and make it
sound like a new unit.
Do fantastic sonic performances by
automating your reverb character and space per channel or group.
Games sound designers and film developers
who want to enhance their 3D visual space illusion, will love
TailVerb. Position things and achieve
greater depth!
If you want unique sounds for your
productions, you can't afford not to have TailVerb in your sonic
tool kit.
Tricks & Tips:
Use it!
Even just using the factory bundled D-Verb, in conjunction with
TailVerb you won't having a fancy, CPU
eating convolution reverb. You can make your regular reverb adopt so many
different characters and position things in the 2D sound stage illusion too.
What is RTAS:
Plug-ins for Digidesign ProTools are in 3 possible formats;
- AudioSuite - (Offline File). Doesn't work in real
time and creates a "fixed" version as a file. (Advantage is no CPU
overhead once processed. Disadvantage is having to re-render if you want
to change the effect)
- RTAS - Real-Time. Changes are instant.
Total flexibility. Uses CPU power for processing so can reduce total
track/effect count.
- TDM - Uses the dedicated DSP power of
core Digidesign HD systems. Expensive hardware and some effects work
better, or still require some CPU processing anyway.
Sound Sculpture plug-ins use the RTAS
system.
